Intended use and preferred applications

The keyboard has the standard features of a computer keyboard but is specifically designed for use in hygienically demanding environments such as medical and dental facilities, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, and food industries. The keyboard is an accessory for devices with a USB connection (e.g., PCs) and can only be used with such devices. It can be connected while the device is running ("hot-plug"), and no special drivers are required, as the device uses existing, pre-installed standard drivers. The sealed surface and coating of the housing are designed for multiple daily disinfections with commercially available disinfectants. The keyboard housing is equipped with a special coating that protects it against damage from disinfectants and cleaning agents, as well as from harmful chemicals, and has an antimicrobial effect. A special cleaning mode allows the keyboard to be cleaned while the device is running without accidental keystrokes.
